WINNIPEG — Manitoba campers hoping to get a spot at a campsite this summer were faced with a system glitch on the province’s online reservation website Monday.
Monday, April 4, was the first day for booking provincial campsites, but a technical issue with the online system left prospective campers on edge.

The province of Manitoba told 680 CJOB News the Parks Reservation System is now back up and running.
“Unfortunately there was an issue with one of the servers early [Monday] morning, causing a delay in the start of online bookings. Service was restored and the system is catching up to the volume again.”
As of 9:30 a.m. Monday, 6,385 reservations had been made.

Four years ago a similar issue occurred with the Manitoba Parks Reservation System. At that time, Conservation Minister Gord Mackintosh said the department planned to review the online system to make it more convenient for users.
Reservations for cabins, yurts, group use areas and Birds Hill campground opened on Mar. 21.
Online bookings for any campground can now be made on the Manitoba Parks website.
