KELOWNA–Kelowna RCMP says two women escaped serious injury following an early morning rollover on Highway 97C.
Just before 6 a.m. on Thursday, RCMP received multiple reports of a rollover on the Connector, near the Brenda Mines turnoff.
Police have determined that the vehicle hit black ice while travelling westbound on the highway. The silver Nissan Pathfinder drove into a snowbank and then rolled over.
The passenger, a 47-year-old woman from West Kelowna was able to get out of her vehicle on her own while the 67-year-old driver, also of West Kelowna, required the assistance of fire crews to escape the wreck.
Neither occupant was injured.
