Summary: Morris is a rural riding located in the Red River Valley. Progressive Conservative MLA Shannon Martin is seeking-election; he was first elected as the MLA in a by-election in January 2014.

Boundaries: Morris is bordered to the south by the Emerson riding, to the north by Lakeside, to the west by Midland and Portage la Prairie and to the east by Winnipeg, Steinbach and Dawson Trail. The communities in the riding are Morris, Niverville, La Salle, Oak Bluff and Headingley.

Last Election: The PC’s Mavis Taillieu defeated NDP candidate Mohamed Alli by over 4,100 votes, 73 to 19 per cent.

History: The Tories have represented Morris since 1954, and the riding is generally regarded as safe for the party.
