Manitoba’s NDP government is mulling over a ban on pesticides that many use to keep their lawns weed and bug-free.
The province is looking for your feedback on the sale and use of cosmetic lawn and turf pesticides used to kill weeds, fungi and other invasive pests.

Other towns and cities have banned cosmetic pesticides because they contain potentially harmful chemicals that can harm people, pets and the environment.
Local lawn care companies say this is a political move only because they products have been deemed safe by Health Canada and that it would be difficult to regulate because the ban only includes certain chemicals while others are still available.
