Flooding forces state of emergency in another Manitoba municipality

LA BROQUERIE – Overland flooding has threatened or already closed about a dozen rural roads in the RM of La Broquerie.

The community has declared a state of emergency to deal with compromised roads, but a mandatory evacuation order is not in effect.

‘The melt for the area came too fast,” says area Reeve Lewis Weiss.

On Tuesday the RM of Hanover declared a state of emergency after a handful of roads flooded, and water surrounding several buildings on one area farm.

Crews could be spotted working to drain water off a road north of Niverville Wednesday.
