R-C-M-P say a highway collision in southeastern New Brunswick claimed the life of a 29-year-old man and sent a young girl to hospital with serious injuries.

Police say Tuesday’s crash involving a car and a pickup truck occurred on Route 115 in Irishtown.

The driver of the car, who was from Moncton, died as a result of his injuries.

A four-year-old girl, who was a passenger in the car, was taken to a Moncton hospital and was later transferred to a hospital in Halifax.

The driver of the truck sustained non-life threatening injuries.

Police say they are still investigating the cause of the accident.
