A Lethbridge resident is dead after experiencing a serious medical emergency during a fitness class at the University of Lethbridge late Tuesday afternoon.
The U of L said security and staff from sports and recreation services responded to aid the person.
At around 6 p.m., paramedics with Lethbridge EMS arrived and rushed the person to Lethbridge Regional Hospital.
The university was later notified that the person had since passed away.
The U of L said if there are members of the community that are feeling distress over the situation, they can seek assistance through counselling services or through the University of Lethbridge Employee and Family Assistance Program.
