Quebec Health Minister apologizes for ‘scandal’ comments

QUEBEC CITY – Health Minister Gaétan Barrette has apologized for comments he made about PQ MNA Diane Lamarre.

“There’s no doubt in my mind that there’s no question about her integrity,” Barrette said.

“If my statements or my positions did insult her in any way, I again apologize to her.”

Last week, Barrette accused Lamarre of not disclosing information about pharmacy owners overcharging private insurers, calling it a “scandal.”

“I heard his apologies, I accept them and I hope for the best for the next days, months and years,” she responded.

Lamarre was president of the Quebec Order of Pharmacists before entering politics.
