Starship, the creators of virtual reality (VR) social network vTime, has expanded the social network’s reach to Google Cardboard, allowing for more users to access its digital landscape.

“Launching on Cardboard allows us to introduce millions more people to possibilities that social VR presents. vTime proves that virtual reality doesn’t have to be isolating,” Starship CEO Martin Kenwright said in a statement.

vTime is a free app that allows users that have a Samsung Gear VR or an Oculus Rift VR device to connect up to three friends in real-time in 12 different virtual locations.

Users can create personalized avatars and tweak accessories, chat in real-time and take the odd selfie.

“We’re intent on creating a network in which conversation and communication is both natural and engaging, allowing our users to create a real human connection with vTime users across the world,” Kenwright said.
