An assault in East Vancouver Friday night has prompted police to issue a public warning.
Police say a 22-year-old woman was walking in the area of East 1st Avenue and Rupert Street around 9:30 p.m. when she was assaulted by a stranger. She suffered minor injuries to her face and jaw.

The motive for the attack is unknown.
Police say they are looking for a man of medium height and build. He was wearing dark clothing at the time of the attack.
