Small victory for Miss Vicky’s pre-school in Westmount

MONTREAL – Miss Vicky’s pre-school in Westmount said it won a partial victory at the Quebec Superior Court.

The pre-school said a judge agreed to stop the province from closing down the operation while a hearing with family ministry is pending.

Miss Vicky’s faced closure by the provincial government because it argued the after-hours program, which is run out of a church, is an extension of the day care and therefore a violation of provincial rules.

While Miss Vicky’s will stay open, the after-school program will have to close at the end of the year.

Miss Vicky’s said it will keep fighting on.
