Big Brother Canada Host, Arisa Cox shares her thoughts on Canadian aboriginal communities

Given the circus that’s happening to the south of us, it’s far too easy to sit back in smug satisfaction that we live in a superior country, with superior leaders. But as incredible as Canada is, the ‘third world’ also exists right here within our borders. We as a country have failed aboriginal communities that deserve the same education, health care, housing, clean drinking water, justice, opportunities and hope that we all do. Jeff McArthur talks about Canada’s slowing economy and rising taxes

Democracy has been well served for generations by competing ideas being shared on editorial pages, in newscasts and in political debates.  But these days, it’s too easy to live in a media echo chamber, ignoring “the other side” and choosing only those news and opinion sources that fit with your own beliefs. How can we possibly understand each other when many no longer even listen to what others have to say?

Andrea Dion covers issues from coast-to-coast

There are a few top issues facing Canadians right now. But, more specifically, I would say the drastic drop of the Canadian dollar has created some doom and gloom over the country. However, It really depends on where in Canada you live. I believe a number of people would argue that the biggest issue right now, and for the foreseeable future, is the price of oil plummeting in Alberta as it affects our economy as a whole. Whereas out East, the biggest concern for Maritimers would be the lack of jobs, which causes trained tradesman and their families to move away from the Atlantic Province – ultimately taking their skills elsewhere when they could be an asset back home.
