The New Brunswick Association of Nursing Homes says it is fed up over a lack of dialogue with the provincial government.
The group is responsible for the management of 65 nursing homes across New Brunswick and says it was not consulted before cuts were made to its operations. Executive director Michael Keating says they can’t even get a conversation with the province’s political leaders.
“The premier has not met with us despite many requests,” he said.
Social Development Minister Cathy Rogers says nothing could be further from the truth and that the two parties met as recently as this week.
“I have met with them a number of times,” Rogers said. “I have never refused to meet with them. I’m always open to meeting with them and my staff are as well.”
