WINNIPEG — Police and City of Winnipeg crews are working to clean up a massive water main break in the St. James area.
Winnipeg police sent out a media release late Monday night specifying an eight block area that is affected.
The streets included in the closure are all streets north of Silver Avenue and south of St. Matthews Avenue between King Edward Street and Berry Street.

As of midnight Tuesday, city crews were working to reduce the water levels on the street.
When the water main break first happened, there was around two feet of water in the area, police said. On Tuesday morning crews opened catch basins and some water has been drained. Sanding trucks are also out.
