The body of a man, which appears to have been naturally preserved in a mummified state, has been found in a damaged, adrift yacht, police in the Philippines say.

The boat was found Thursday by fishermen in the Pacific Ocean and dragged back to the coastal community of Barobo, in the province of Surigao del Sur.

It’s believed to be the body of German national Manfred F. Bajorat, who according to German newspaper Bild hasn’t been heard from in a year. Documents found within the boat were used by authorities to identify the body.

Barobo Police posted pictures of the boat and items found inside, along with images of the man’s body in the state it was found.

The corpse was seated in the cabin of the boat, hunched over a table.

A police spokesperson told the Daily Mail foul play is not suspected, and it’s believed the man died of natural causes.
