Police say a 42-year-old woman, a 16-year-old male, and a 13-year-old female have been taken to hospital.

Mounties say a west-bound car tried to pass a transport truck near the town of Rosetown but collided head-on with an east-bound SUV.

Police says it was raining at the time of the crash and visibility was restricted because of spray from the transport truck.

Names of the dead have not yet been released, and Mounties say both occupants of the SUV have also been taken to hospital.
