UPDATED: RCMP looking for man in relation to standoff in Lloydminster

RCMP in Lloydminster are searching for a 33 year-old man after a stand-off in that community. 

The standoff began around 11:30 Sunday morning after a man barricaded himself alone in a residence, where it’s believed there was a firearm. Residences in the area were evacuated and the perimeter surrounding the home was secured.

But at some point Sunday evening police think the man, who they believe is James Daniel Munroe, escaped from the residence.

They are now asking for the public’s help in finding him. Police have not released a description of picture of Munroe at this time. But if anyone knows him and his whereabouts, they should not approach him but should instead call 9-1-1, Crimestoppers or their local police service. Munroe may be armed and should be considered dangerous. 

Police believe this incident stems from a domestic dispute.

According to police, Munroe lives in Lloydminster but has a connection to Barrhead.
