WINNIPEG – Three people are dead and one other is critically injured following a house fire on the 300 block of Alexander Ave.
Fire crews arrived to the scene after 2:30 a.m. Sunday and encountered heavy fire conditions in the back of the house.
They were able to bring the fire under control.

Four people were taken from the scene by paramedics in critical condition. Two women aged 20 and 21 died from their injuries. Two others were taken to hospital, where a 49-year-old man later died. One remains in critical condition. Two firefighters also suffered minor injuries.
The cause of the fire is not yet known and the Arson Unit is now involved in the investigation.
The cause and damage estimate are both still under investigation.
City officials also say a dog died in the fire.
