ST. JOHN’S, N.L. – Two men are facing several charges after a disturbance with officers on a popular strip of bars in Newfoundland’s capital.
The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary says the two men, ages 20 and 22, were arrested on George Street in St. John’s just before 3 a.m. on Sunday.

The 20-year-old man is facing multiple charges including two counts of assaulting a peace officer and uttering threats to cause death.
The 22-year-old man was charged with three counts of assaulting a peace officer and possession of a weapon dangerous to the public.
Both men were held overnight and were scheduled to appear in court on Sunday.
