Speed and alcohol factors in fatal rollover on Calgary Trail

EDMONTON – One man is dead following a rollover on 55th avenue and Calgary Trail that happened around noon on Saturday.

 

Another man remains in hospital in critical condition, while a third man has been treated and released.

 

Police spokesperson Claire Seyler says there were three people – all men in their 20s – in the vehicle at the time of the crash. The jaws of life had to be used to remove them from the wreckage.

The driver succombed to his injuries shortly after the crash.

 

“Traffic is investigating. At this time, they have confirmed that alcohol and speed were both factors in this fatality,” Seyler says.
