The District of West Kelowna has closed its sports fields from Friday through Sunday. The decision came after water began pooling heavily on fields on Friday morning.

The closure affects soccer fields, football fields and baseball diamonds.
A news release sent by the district says there were concerns standing water could lead to player injuries and cause damage to the fields.
District staff will re-evaluate conditions and provide an update on the fields on Monday.
Sports fields in Vernon were closed earlier this week due to heavy rainfall. All the fields except the DND field have since re-opened.
