Halifax police ask for help as they try to solve fatal shooting case

HALIFAX – Halifax police are asking for the public’s help as investigators try to solve a recent shooting death.

Police issued a statement Friday saying they want to talk to a man who was involved in a fight outside a Halifax bar just before rapper John Newcombe was shot dead nearby on June 1.

The shooting happened outside Winston’s Bar at 2 a.m.

The 27-year-old tattoo artist died at the scene.

Police say the man involved in the fight is not a suspect, and investigators are only interested in talking to him.
