A police officer in Corpus Christie, Texas, is being hailed as a hero after he helped pull a man from a burning SUV on Monday.

Officer Jon McGinley came across a GMC Suburban which lost control and crashed into the concrete guardrail along the turn ramp of the expressway.

The dash-camera video from McGinley’s car shows the Suburban’s front, driver’s side smashed against the concrete barrier and some smoke coming from the engine compartment. McGinley is first on scene and can be seen breaking out the passenger side window with his baton.

A number of other good Samaritans also came to the rescue and one man helps McGinley pull the injured driver from the wreck.

“Let’s get him away from here,” McGinley can be heard saying as he and another man drag the 29-year-old driver away from the burning vehicle.
