Breakfast Buzz: Would a carbon tax lower your energy consumption?

What exactly is a carbon tax? – Feb 23, 2016

SASKATOON – Next week Canada’s premiers will meet with the prime minister, where officials have indicated a large focus will be on creating a national strategy to curb emissions. Currently there are two Canadian models of carbon reduction to base off of: British Columbia has a carbon tax, and Ontario has a cap and trade program.

Global News spoke with a resource economist who likens a carbon tax to a liquor tax, saying it’s an incentive to curb a perceived negative activity.
