Manitoba Hydro plans outages in Wolseley area

Manitoba Hydro is planning outages to customers in parts of Winnipeg's Wolseley area on Feb. 24, for up to two hours, starting at 9 a.m. File / Global News

WINNIPEG — Residents in parts of the Wolseley neighbourhood may be in the dark for a few hours on Wednesday, as Manitoba Hydro is interrupting electrical service.

The planned outage starts at 9 a.m. and will last two hours. Around 800 customers will be affected.

The areas include:

• Portage Avenue to the north
• Alloway Avenue to the south
• Maryland Street to the east
• Canora Street to the west

Hydro said the outage is required to allow workers to safely replace cables.

Some customers just outside the boundary area may experience up to 10 minutes of outages, at the start and end of the two-hour outage.
