Hosted by Rebellion Brewing company in the Queen City, the one-day shop featured thousands of vintage vinyl records, with many musical genres up for sale.

“Sound tracks seem to be popular but there really is a little bit of everything. There was a couple guys here with some punk, and some hardcore. There’s a young gentlemen that’s got a bunch of soul 45s. So it’s really a wide collection”, Organizer Joe Hadesbeck explained.

With the resurgence of vinyl, the shop is a throwback for older music lovers.

However, for many younger folks, the appeal is growing. They said it’s much different listening to music on an MP3 player compared to that of a record player.

“With an MP3, you just get a snippet of that story, and you just sort of move on and can put it on random. And you never really know”.

“But with an album, you have to sit there and enjoy it and you listen to the whole experience”, shopper Colton Geschwandtner stated.

“It’s the physical thing that you hold in your hand while you’re listening. You can read the liner notes in some of them.”

“It’s different than putting on that somewhat sterile CD or the MP3″, Hadesbeck chimed.

All proceeds from the event’s door entry fee will go to support CC RezQs, a local dog rescue organization.

” Anytime that we can open up to a new market is great. They work hard on setting these events up, and they very well deserve the money that comes in from the admission costs, so for them to give that to us is, it’s big”, Caillin Rodonets of CC RezQs said.
