KELOWNA – Two Mounties have been injured while dealing with a volatile and violent patient at the Kelowna hospital.
Police were called Wednesday morning after the man barricaded himself inside his room and covered the security camera.
When the door was opened, the patient rushed out and began striking the officers.
During the struggle, one officer broke bones in his hand while the other suffered a sprained hand.
The first will be off-duty for several weeks while the other is on restricted police duties.
RCMP are not recommending the patient be charged.
