‘Vinsanity’ returns: NBA mixtape celebrates Vince Carter’s Raptor highlight reel

TORONTO – With the All-Star Game just days away, the NBA is looking to pump up Toronto fans with a new video taking us back to the bygone days of 2000 and “Vinsanity.”

Some fans will remember a time when Vince Carter wasn’t just someone you booed at the ACC, but a high-flying superstar who electrified the Raptors’ fan base and helped lead the team to some of its earliest successes.

Between 1998 and about 2002 – he was officially traded in 2004, but those last couple of seasons were pretty ugly – the man nicknamed “Air Canada” and “Half-Man, Half-Amazing” took Toronto to the playoffs and also won what some consider the best NBA dunk contest ever.

On Tuesday, the NBA released a new video celebrating Carter’s Raptors career, including some rare highlights.
