WINNIPEG – Winnipeg Police officers promoted the importance of neighbourhood crime prevention programs during a public availability session at the Polo Park shopping centre.

Crime Prevention officers set up a kiosk in the mall and provided information about the Neighbourhood Watch and Block Parent Programs.

They also shared tips about how to make your home and vehicle as secure as possible.

The event was also a rare chance for people to relate any concerns and questions they may have had directly to an officer.

“We get a variety of questions and a lot of the time the public doesn’t have an opportunity to just come up to a police officer and talk, and talk about anything. We’re here to talk about any concerns the public may have,” said Patrol Sergeant Phil Penner.
