The shuttered glass plant in Lavington is now back on the market at a much lower price.
The property was listed for $9.7 million on three different occasions from 2009 to 2013.
Ryan Danchuck with Don Kassa Realtor Services, the reality that is handling the sale, says there have been multiple accepted offers in the past but none of them worked out.
The asking price has now been dropped to $5 million. Danchuck says that some repairs are needed to the roof and they are also hoping for a quick sale this time.
The closed plant is sitting on 91.7 acres of land, and almost all of it is zoned for industrial use. Danchuck suggests a buyer could potentially subdivide the property and use it for an industrial park.
A small portion of the land, approximately two acres, is zoned for agricultural use.
The plant itself is also sizeable.
“It is a huge building. Just the warehouse alone covers over six acres. It looks like a movie set in there pretty much,” says Danchuck.
Danchuck says production companies have asked to shoot movies in the warehouse but because of liability concerns, no films were ever shot in the building.
When the glass plant closed in 2008, around 300 people lost their jobs.
