Yogi, the Rottweiler-cross who was involved in an attack on two women in a Richmond park in December will be put down.
Ted Townsend with the city of Richmond said there was a court hearing on Tuesday and Yogi’s owner decided to surrender the dog to the city. The dog is currently being held by the Richmond Animal Protection Society and they will move forward with plans to euthanize the dog.

The date the dog will be put down has not yet been decided.
Yogi’s owner, Lucas MacNeil, originally vowed to fight to save his dog, but Townsend said he changed his mind at the court hearing on Tuesday.
One of the women Yogi attacked suffered more than 100 bites to her body and is expected to recover. MacNeil is the boyfriend of one of the twins.
