Joe Alaskey, the voice behind beloved Looney Tunes characters like Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck, has died at age 63 of cancer, his spokesperson confirmed.
The Looney Tunes characters, originally voiced by Warner Bros. voice actor Mel Blanc until his death in 1989, were handed over to Alaskey during the 2000s. Aside from Bugs and Daffy, Alaskey voiced Sylvester and Tweety, Plucky Duck on Tiny Toon Adventures, and Yosemite Sam in Who Framed Roger Rabbit?

He provided the voice for Bugs and Daffy in the 2003 live-action/animated movie Looney Tunes: Back in Action. He won a Daytime Emmy Award in 2004 for his work as Duck Dodgers.
Alaskey wasn’t confined to just cartoons, however. His voice was used on Rugrats, as Richard Nixon in Tom Hanks movie Forrest Gump, and narrated ID Network’s Murder Comes to Town.

It’s not immediately clear who’ll be taking over those voice roles going forward.
