Olivia and Liam top baby names in Sask.

REGINA – Liam and Olivia were the two hottest baby names in 2015.

On Wednesday, eHealth Saskatchewan released the top 20 baby names in 2015. Olivia topped the list with 80 girls and Liam with 69 boys.

For the last six years, Liam has been the most popular boys name. Noah once again came in second place with 65 boys.

However, Emma, which has been the top girls name since 2009, was knocked out of the top spot. The name tied with Emily at 63 baby girls.

Some names that didn’t make the top 20 last year became popular among parents. in 2015. For boys, Grayson, Asher and Wyatt cracked the top 20. Mia, Sophie, Addison, Charlotte and Scarlett were the new additions to the girls’ names list.

The top 20 names for girls were Olivia, Emily, Emma, Ava, Avery, Sophia, Zoey, Brooklyn, Aria, Mia, Lilly, Hannah, Claire, Sophie, Chloe, Addison, Charlotte, Ella, Isabella and Scarlett.

The top 20 names for boys were Liam, Noah, Benjamin, Lincoln, Lucas, William, Hudson, Wyatt, Hunter, Jack, Jacob, Owen, Carter, Ethan, Samuel, Alexander, Logan Grayson, Jackson and Asher.

There were 15,497 births registered in 2015, not including Saskatchewan mothers who gave birth outside the province.
