Police then spotted a vehicle matching the description near Toronto Street and 2nd Avenue. Officers then stopped the vehicle, which they called a high-risk vehicle stop because there was possibly a rifle in the car.
Two people were arrested and a loaded, sawed-off .22 calibre rifle was found in the vehicle.
Michael Lee Omilon, 23, from Wolseley, Sask. and Dakota Jordan Michelle Koch, 21, from Regina have been charged with Careless Use of a Firearm and Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited or Restricted Weapon. The two appeared in Provincial Court Monday morning at 9:30 a.m.
