Police seek suspect after early morning hit-and-run in St. Catharines

ST. CATHARINES, Ont. – Niagara Region police are seeking a suspect in an early morning hit-and-run.

Police say a car veered off the road (on Queenston Street) in St. Catharines and struck a 44-year-old man around 2 a.m., propelling him into the air.

The man is in hospital in critical condition. A 21-year-old man who was walking with him managed to jump out of the way.

Police say the driver took off.

Officers later found a car they say matches the description of the one involved in the collision.

It is being held for forensic investigation.
