Residents in Harbourview-Burnside-Dartmouth East have chosen a new municipal councillor.
Tony Mancini was elected last night in District 6. Mancini was one of four candidates vying to replace Darren Fisher, who was elected as a Liberal MP in the federal election and is now a member of the house of commons.
Mancini won with 1,475 votes, just 276 more than his closest rival, Matt Spurway. Halifax Mayor Mike Savage tweeted his congratulations to Mancini shortly after the results were made public.
