LETHBRIDGE, Alta. – A southern Alberta man has been convicted of manslaughter in the 2009 stabbing death of a man in Crowsnest Pass.
Derek Plourde had been on trial for second-degree murder, but the judge found him guilty in a Lethbridge courtroom of the lesser charge.

Plourde fatally stabbed George English outside his cabin.
During the trial court heard that Plourde’s wife was having an affair with English and was at the cabin that night.
No word on when Plourde will be sentenced.
