As crews attacked the blaze with water, the incident commander called for a second fire engine to assist with evacuating the building. The fire was brought under control within two minutes and did not extend to the interior of the building.
Damage is estimated at $10,000 and no injuries were reported.
Officials say the cause of the blaze cannot be determined but it appears to have started with the block heater.
