REGINA – After this weekend’s frigid weather SaskEnergy set a natural gas consumption record for the province.

In a 24-hour period on Saturday January 16th to Sunday January 17th SaskEnergy delivered 1.29 PetaJoules of natural gas to customers – a two per cent increase over the last record set on January 4th, 2015.

SaskEnergy added that an average home uses about 105 GigaJoules of natural gas annually.

SaskEnergy says that the record-setting is happening so frequently because new customers are being added daily.
