EDMONTON – Both the Wildrose and Alberta NDP parties saw over half a million dollars in donations in the last quarter of 2015, and the Progressive Conservatives had a huge rebound.
For the entire 2015 year, the three parties fundraised more than $1.3 million dollars each.
Elections Alberta recently posted the parties fundraising numbers from the beginning of October to the end of December. Here’s how much each party took in:
Wildrose — $589,002
NDP — $552,594
PCs — $221,959
Liberals — $59,625
Alberta Party — $27,710

The PCs managed to raise 14 times as much as the previous three months, when the former governing party only took in $15,575.
The NDP also saw a big increase over its Q3 donations, when it raised $82,745.
Donations to the Wildrose more than doubled: in the Q3 summer months, the opposition party raised $263,675.

The Alberta Liberals donations also doubled in the final months of 2015.
The Alberta Party also saw a huge increase, as the party only took in just over $4000 in Q3.
Here’s how much each party fundraised in total in 2015, in descending order:
Wildrose — $1,477,125
PCs — $1,322,489
NDP — $1,311,954
Liberals — $213,319.74
Alberta Party — $146,414
All registered political parties in the province must submit contribution reports to Elections Alberta, within 15 days of the end of each quarter.
