Second of two teens to stand trial for first degree murder charge

REGINA – The second of two teens charged in connection with the death of 16-year-old Hannah Leflar will be going to trial on his charge of first degree murder.

During his preliminary hearing this week, the now 17-year-old boy consented to stand trial. A second 17-year-old boy, also charged with first degree murder, had previously consented to stand trial.

Leflar, a Grade 11 Thom Collegiate student, was found dead in her home on January 12th, 2015.

No trial date has been set for either of the accused.

Crown prosecutors have indicated they would seek adult sentences for the boys should they be convicted.
