Edmonton Eskimos extend kicker Sean Whyte’s contract

EDMONTON — Kicker Sean Whyte will be with the Green and Gold through the 2016 season after the Edmonton Eskimos extended his contract Monday.

Whyte, 30, joined the team as a free agent in September 2015.

This past season with the Eskimos, Whyte made 24 of 26 field goal attempts, 14 of 14 converts and punted 59 times for 2,401 yards. He was named the Eskimos’ 2015 Most Outstanding Canadian.
