Police has to resort to tasers in order to diffuse a brawl inside a Sikh temple in California after a day of prayer, according to CBS reports.
Lt. Marc Nuno told the Modesto Bee that nearly 300 people were in attendance Sunday in Turlock, Calif. when the fight broke out. Footage provided by Harinder Toor, who was inside at the time, shows punching and shoving among a huge crowd. A number of kirpans, a religious sword worn by Sikhs, could be seen raised high, posing a threat.

“The violent brawl with the kirpan could have been deadly today,” Toor said, adding he’s worried the footage portrays “a negative connotation about our religion.”
Toor explained an ongoing leadership struggle at the temple led to the brawl. The Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Department says this is not the first violent act between the factions.
But no arrests were made, according to CBS.
“We all are brother and sisters here,” Preet Singh explained to FOX News. “Come to the church. Come to the temple. We solve our problem here. But don’t fight.”
