VERNON – The prosecutor was seeking a jail sentence between four and six months.
The judge didn’t think that was enough time behind bars.
A Vernon man has been handed a nine month jail term and three years probation after pleading guilty to possessing child pornography.

Karl David Lawrence, 51, was arrested in April 2014 after police executed a search warrant at his home.
Numerous child porn videos were found on his computer and compact discs, some depicting sex acts on girls as young as three years old.

Lawrence told police he was addicted to watching child porn.
Charges of importing or distributing and accessing the illegal images were stayed by the Crown.
