Police investigate four armed robberies involving guns, knives

Halifax Regional Police are investigating four robberies in Halifax Sunday night and say the incidents, which involved firearms and knives, are unrelated.

Police say the robberies happened between 8:20 p.m and 10:50 p.m

Gerrish Street

A 30-year-old man was arrested after a woman went to a home on Gerrish Street to buy a cell phone from someone she knew. Police say the man she was meeting produced a knife and demanded money.

She handed over the money and left. She wasn’t hurt called police after she left the home.

Police went to the residence, but the man had fled. They arrested him in the area of Gottingen Street and Portland Place a short while later.

Wellington Street

Police are looking for a group of three masked men after an armed robbery on Wellington Street.

Patrol officers responded around 9:15 p.m., where they were told a group of three man had entered the residence armed with a handgun and demanded money.

A small amount of money was taken from the residents before the men ran away.

After a search of the area by officers and the K9 unit, police were unable to locate the suspects, who are described as three white men wearing masks on their faces.

Prince Albert Road

HRP are also looking for four suspects after a shot was fired during an armed home invasion in Dartmouth.

Officers were called to a home on Prince Albert Drive around 9:25 p.m., where it was reported that four hooded and masked black men had forced their way in to the home with a large knife and a gun.

The men reportedly rummaged through the home, fired a shot through the ceiling, and then fled on foot. Police say no one was hurt.

Pleasant Street

The last robbery of the night happened about 10:50 p.m.

Police say a man with a knife robbed money and cigarettes from the Ultramar gas station on Pleasant Street in Dartmouth.

Police and the K-9 unit searched the are but were unable to locate the suspect. He is described as being in his 20s, about 5’8″ with a blond bears and was carrying a black back pack with red piping.
