An Israeli reporter was accidentally stabbed on the job on Wednesday while demonstrating a protective vest.
Reporter Eitam Lachover was filming a story about a company making protective vests at a time when Israel is facing near-daily stabbing attacks by Palestinians.
Lachover was asked to try on the vest and demonstrate a thwarted stabbing.
“This is a commando knife, that is used by militaries in the world, a very strong knife, it is from steel,” said Yaniv Montakyo, vice president of company that makes protective vests.

“We will demonstrate a stabbing on you.”
“You are going to stab me with this?” asked Lachover.
“You have nothing to worry about, we are very confident in our product,” Montakyo reassured.
“This product can protect from knives that are stronger than this one, may I? Don’t be afraid, if something happens, I’m here.”
But the knife penetrated the vest, lightly wounding him in the upper back.
Yaniv Montakyo told Israeli Channel 2 TV he stabbed Lachover in an area of the vest where there was no protective material.
Lachover said on Twitter he got stitches and was discharged from the hospital.
An earlier take of the demonstration was successful and did not harm the reporter and was to be broadcast on Wednesday, a spokeswoman for Israel’s state broadcaster said.
