Police search for two suspects who attacked man with axe, knife

LOWER SACKVILLE, N.S. – Police are investigating after a man was stabbed and cut with an axe in an early morning altercation on Riverside Dr. Monday.

Police say a man was walking toward an apartment building on Riverside Dr. when he was approached by two men who demanded money from him.

He refused, and was then stabbed with a knife by one suspect, and then cut by the other who was carrying an axe.

The victim ran from the attackers and was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

The two suspects fled into a wooded area.

A police dog tracked the men, described as Caucasian and wearing dark clothes with faces covered, to the area of Lois Dr. and Old Beaverbank Rd.

Police ask that anyone who may have seen the suspects or any suspicious activity contact Halifax RCMP at 902-244-7208 or Halifax Regional Police at 902-490-5180.
