LOWER SACKVILLE, N.S. – Police are investigating after a man was stabbed and cut with an axe in an early morning altercation on Riverside Dr. Monday.
Police say a man was walking toward an apartment building on Riverside Dr. when he was approached by two men who demanded money from him.
He refused, and was then stabbed with a knife by one suspect, and then cut by the other who was carrying an axe.
The victim ran from the attackers and was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
The two suspects fled into a wooded area.
A police dog tracked the men, described as Caucasian and wearing dark clothes with faces covered, to the area of Lois Dr. and Old Beaverbank Rd.
