Mounties are asking the public’s help in identifying two suspects who allegedly broke into a house in Surrey and assaulted a resident before fleeing on foot on Dec. 24.

The assault happened at about 2:30 p.m. on Christmas Eve day at a home near 72 Avenue and 132 Street in Surrey.

When police arrived, they found the two suspects had gained entry to the home from the back alley after knocking on the door. When the resident opened the door, he was immediately assaulted with a blunt weapon and forced back into the home. The victim was able to fight the two intruders and push them out of his home. The resident had injuries to his head, which required stitches. A second person in the home was not injured.
