Fire crews were battling a blaze at a house on 117th Street and 129th Avenue.
Firefighters called police after finding a body inside the building – which is believed to be abandoned.
The deceased person was pulled from the building around 8:30 Tuesday morning.
Fire and police crews remain on scene, investigating the deadly fire in the Calder neighbourhood.
