SICAMOUS – A 35-year-old man is facing charges after an incident near Sicamous early Monday morning. RCMP say a driver tried to escape via kayak after ramming one of their vehicles.

According to the RCMP, the driver then took off in the vehicle. Police found the truck near Mara Lake, along with footprints and other clues that suggested he left on a kayak, using his hands as paddles.

Police drove around the lake where they arrested a man. Police say he had had hypothermia.
